Hello race fans

Once again Mother Nature has proved to be the only successful person on the racetrack. I have seen it rain more this year at the beginning of a season than it has in years past. While we were supposed to travel to Madera last weekend, they had to cancel due to soggy infield and pit area.

Fortunately Stockton 99 was holding another practice session and we took the cars out for the day. With a carburetor change and fresher rubber to drive on, the black #3 Chevy ran great.

In one session I ran side by side with my brother in-law and last years pro champion "Fearless" Fred Clement for 5 laps just to see if my car could be a front-runner, lets just say he had a hard time shaking me off. In the process we both came off turn two and split the 09 car of Patty Clement (who happens to be my mother in-law and former late model driver). I went to the outside and Fred went to the inside and Patty kept it in the center as we flew down the back stretch and into turn three, she later said we almost scared he to death, and as for our car owner Chuck Carman of REP-CO Towing, took a deep breath and grabbed his wallet, he thought for sure all three of his cars were going to tangle on the back stretch. Well no one wrecked and everyone laughed about it later, we all had a good time.

This weekend we were supposed to travel to Roseville, but do to their infield and pits they had to cancel the races. Again i sit wondering are we ever going to go racing and which track will we go to first. image002.jpg (40616 bytes)
