Changes for the New Season

April 1, 2006

It has been reported that Stockton 99 Speedway driver “Duct Tape” Dave Ball has signed on to drive the #3 black Chevy Legend car for Chuck Carman of Rep-Co Racing.  The length of the contract is still unknown, but it looks like it could be a multi-year agreement. Teamed up with Clement Racing, Fred, Patty, Ted and Keith are thrilled to have Dave Ball as a member.

Dave who has been involved for nearly 10 year in racing, first as a crew chief on a Grand American Modified, then owning and driving his own stock cars. During the four years driving stock cars Ball won the Rookie of The Year 2002, and has finished extremely well in points every year sense then, winning numerous dash and heat races including a main event on Mother’s Day weekend in 2004.

Late in the 2005 season Ball blew an engine in his #29 Camaro and finished the season in a back-up car provided by Chuck Carmen of Rep-Co Racing.  With this help he was able to finish the season placing 6th in the over all point standings and was awarded “Most Improved Driver” for the 2005 season.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to what the new season has in store for me,” Ball said. “Dave Clement and Chuck Carmen have put a lot faith in me having the ability to move from stock cars to the Legends series.  I know there will be a big learning curve going from a three thousand pound stockcar to a short wheel base eleven hundred pound Legend. I should do well though with advice from my brother-in-law Fred Clement who won the Pro Division Championship for the Legends Of Pacific last year.”

The Legends Of Pacific series is a traveling division running at racetracks throughout Northern California include Roseville, Ukiah, Lakeport, Altamont, Stockton, Madera.

The season ends with a big three-day show at the Bull Ring Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Nationals.

“I’m very optimistic 2006 season and with three of our team members, Keith my wife’s cousin, Patty my mother-in-law, and myself contending for the rookie of the year, this season should be very interesting.’

Dave has a lot of support from the team and his wife who’s been his crew chief for the past few years she is very dedicated and wants to see me succeed in what ever type of racecar he drives.”

As always the David Ball Racing will end its season with a barbeque held at the Ball residence for all the team members and sponsors.

Even though there are no dates set yet, the team plans to do some car shows for the local fans at their sponsor’s place of business.
